LIMA – CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – PUNO 10DAYS / 9NIGHTS
DAY 1: LIMA IN
Our representative will be waiting at Lima´s airport to transfer you to the hotel. (Depending of your arrival time we will recommend you the hotel, considering that into the airport there a hotel which works perfect for people who have an early flight to Cusco or other destinations). The transfer time from Lima´s airport to Lima town last almost 1 hour.

DAY 2: LIMA (CITY TOUR) – CUSCO IN:
After breakfast, the guide will pick you up from the hotel to transfer you into the Historic Center of Lima to visit San Martin Square, the Main Square or “Plaza de Armas” where the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral and Town Hall are located. You will then proceed to visit San Francisco Church, a masterpiece of Colonial architecture preserving the best examples of Colonial religious art in America. Time for the lunch.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Lima´s airport to board the flight to Cusco (1 ½ hours of flight).
At Cusco´s airport you will be contacted by the guide to be transferred to the hotel, time free to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

DAY 3: CUSCO CITY TOUR – RUINS:
The guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on a half day tour of Cusco. You will start visiting the main square surrounded by magnificent colonial buildings, the Cathedral, the Koricancha which was the most important temple of the Inca culture; it was dedicated to worship the sun.
Finally you will visit the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman and its impressive rocky constructions, followed by Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay.
Return to the hotel.

DAY 4: SACRED VALLEYOF THE INCAS: PISAC – OLLANTAYTAMBO:
Today, you will set off for the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way you will stop to visit Awanacancha a llama project where you will see South American camelids such as llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas, also you have the chance to appreciate the traditional Inca weaving and dying techniques which have been kept by the local people for centuries.
Your journey continues to the small village of Pisac, and there you will walk through its lively typical market and have some free time to interact with the townsfolk and artisans and to shop for handicrafts and souvenirs. Continuing the tour you will visit Pisac´s archaeological site located at the top of the mountain which gives us a clear idea of the hard work and amazing ingenuity required to create the Inca’s agricultural terraces, its constructions are just compared with Machu Picchu buildings.
You will enjoy a buffet lunch at the town of Urubamba, and then visit Ollantaytambo which is one of the most beautiful, and significant sites in the entire Cusco region. It is a very interesting, and typical pueblo with extensive, well preserved Inca ruins; crowned by the sacred archaeological site with its impressive temple of the sun.
Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 5: SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES:
Free morning to rest or explore Ollantaytambo on your own, this is amazing town known as the last inca city living, because the inca buildings are still used as basement of the modern constructions, and by its old streets continue running the clean water of the Incas.
At midday you will board the Vistadome train which will take you to Aguas calientes town; this scenic train ride is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Upon your arrival, reception and accommodation at the hotel.
Aguas calientes is a small village almost 90% dedicated to the tourism activities, there are many activities to do; you can visit the Mandor waterfalls, visit the site Museum, go to the hot springs, visit the market or walk around this village.

DAY 6: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO:
Today, you have a full-day to explore Machu Picchu citadel – the new seven wonder of the world; the shuttle bus service will take you for 20 minutes from Aguas Calienets to Machu Picchu where you will have a 2- 3 hours fully guided tour of the mysterious ruins, visiting the most important sector of the city such as the temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, the temple of the three windows, the mausoleum, the temple of the condor, etc.
If you are in a good physical shape you can hike to the Inca Bridge, Huayna Picchu, Inti Punku sun gate, or just wander through the ruins taking pictures.
You then return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco (Poroy train station), arrival to Poroy and transfer to the hotel.

NOTE: hike to the summit of Huayna Picchu, (Huayna Picchu now requires an extra, limited-availability permit; allowed just 400 per day. It is a 1.5-hour hike)
DAY 7: CUSCO – PUNO (TOURIST BUS SERVICE):
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the bus station to take the tourist bus to Puno.
This route is considered one of the most spectacular-amazing highland trips in the south of Peru, which includes guided tours to Inca and pre-Inca remains in the route.
You will visit the church of Andahuaylillas known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”; it was built on top of a huaca, or sacred place for the Incas. Made out of adobe and brick, the church is a small structure consisting of one nave, apse and bell tower. The quality of its Mudejar coffered ceiling and the artwork of the altars make of this church the most beautiful of Cusco region.
Continuing with the trip, you will arrive to Raqchi where is located the most important building known as the “Wiracocha temple” that according to the old chroniclers was built by the Inca Wiracocha in honor to the Superior God invisible for the Andean people.
The next stop will be in La Raya (the highest pass) which is the watershed between the valley that drains into Lake Titicaca and the valley that leads down to Cusco and to the Sacred Valley.
Finally you will visit Pukara which was the first regional population center in the northern Lake Titicaca Basin during the Late Formative Period (500 BC- AD 200), providing valuable insights into the origins of Andean civilization in the highlands.

DAY 8: FLOATING ISLANDS: UROS – AMANTANI: 2DAYS/1NIGHT:
Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and then transferred to the harbor. We start off our boat excursion of Lake Titicaca by visiting “The Uros Floating Islands” which is located at 30 minutes from Puno; Uros is a small community that has lived on these reed Islands for decades. They used the TOTORA (reeds) to build their floating island platforms and over it they build the houses completely with reeds; also this material was used to build their canoes.
After visiting this floating Island, we continue our tour towards Amantani Island where we will spend the night. There are no hotels on Amantani Islands, but upon arrival you will be welcomed by local families; the group will be splitted into smaller groups for overnight stays with local families.
It is very beautiful and peaceful island; there are six villages and ruins on both of the island’s peaks, Pacha Tata and Pacha Mama, we will walk up to Pacha Mama from where there are stunning views of the lake and surroundings.
Your local familiy will provide traditional clothing at the house; men are given ponchos and wooly hats, the hats are hand-made by the families, with unique styles, so that they can recognize you in the hall. Women are given colorful skirts, blouses and veils.

DAY 9: AMANTANI – TAQUILE – PUNO:
After a traditional breakfast, you will be transferred to Taquile Island (1 hour on boat); in Taquile we will appreciate numerous ancient agricultural terraces and archaeological sites.
The island is narrow, only about 1 km wide, and 6-7 km long; once you reach the island you will have to walk up along a narrow path, enjoying on the way impressive views of the Lake Titicaca and also see gorgeous little houses inhabited by locals. At the top of the island you will have free time to explore and appreciate the traditional pre-Inca and Inca textiles; the most characteristic garments is the “Chullo”, a knitted hat with an earflap, and “The Calendar Waistband”, depicting the annual cycles connected to ritual and agricultural activities.
Afterwards you will have the lunch at one local restaurant; finally we will descent to the harbor to take our boat back to Puno.

DAY 10: PUNO – LIMA – HOME:
After breakfast and depending of your flight time to Lima, transfer to Juliaca´s airport.
