Apurimac Canyon – Flight Of The Andean Condor: Full Day

At 8:00am, we will pick you up from your hotel and travel through the highlands towards the Northwest of Cusco until get Limatambo valley, at this we will visit the archaeological site of Tarawasi, which was used as a ceremonial center, as well as a resting place for the Inca chasquis (Inca runners who delivered messages over long distances). The exceptional polygonal retaining wall, noteworthy for its 28 human-sized niches, is in itself worth the trip from Cusco.
After visiting this place, you will take a well preserved dirt road up to the picturesque highland hamlet of Chonta; here we will start to hike for 2 hours by a single track path, on the way we can see small parrots, whilst appreciating the pretty flora and the spectacular scenery as we approach the canyon.
A short hike downhill will take you to the viewpoint of the Andean condor.
We will stay at this place for 2-3 hours in order to wait for the condors to soar upwards, being transported by thermal winds. This is an unforgettable birding experience and a highlight for every nature enthusiast.
Finally, you will start the hike back to Chonta, where you will board the transport to return to Cusco.
